Two men thought by many to be the finest to have ever represented the club – Kenny Dalglish and Steven Gerrard.

Both struck in front of their beloved supporters 104 times in L4 as they etched their names into club legend.

Dalglish’s initial Anfield effort was scored on his home debut against Newcastle United in August 1977, helping Liverpool to a 2-0 victory.

King Kenny bagged for the final time on Merseyside in April 1987 when he opened the scoring in a 3-0 success against Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, Gerrard’s Anfield opener was a dizzying run-and-finish against Sheffield Wednesday in December 1999.

And he typically signed off in front of the Kop with a match winner, heading home in the 87th minute against Queens Park Rangers in May 2015
