23 years ago today, Robbie Fowler helped himself to all five goals as Liverpool dispatched Fulham 5-0 at Anfield in a League Cup second round, second-leg encounter.
In only his fourth appearance for the first team, the striker further announced his arrival on the senior stage with a quintet of strikes.
Indeed, less than two weeks earlier, he’d marked his debut with a goal against the Londoners at Craven Cottage in the first leg of the tie.
