It was on November 1, 1975 that David Fairclough made the first of his 154 appearances for Liverpool, in a 1-0 victory at Middlesbrough.
He would go on to become ‘Supersub’ due to his knack for scoring from the bench, which he did on 18 occasions against 13 different clubs.
