Philippe Coutinho collected the Standard Chartered Player of the Month award for October at Melwood, having received 56 per cent of the votes from fans in our poll.

“I am happy to have the won the award, but as I always say the most important thing is that the team have played well throughout this month,” said the No.10 when the trophy was presented.

Meanwhile, Coutinho’s compatriot and colleague Firmino has explained why the work the Reds have done so far this term will mean nothing if they do not build on it.

In an extract from a special #LFCWORLD conversation between the two Brazilians, which is available to watch below, the forward also gives his take on how the pair combine so effectively.

Can offered a message of support to Danny Ings after the news that the striker is set for seven to nine months on the sidelines with an injury to his right knee.

“He is a very strong guy and will come back stronger. We will be behind him and help him,” said the midfielder.
