Emre Can has hailed Philippe Coutinho as ‘incredible’, with the Liverpool midfielder revealing that his teammate’s ability amazes him on a daily basis at Melwood.

Coutinho scooped the club’s Standard Chartered Player of the Month prize for October earlier this week, and has also been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month accolade thanks to his superb run of form.

The Brazilian scored what proved to be the decisive goal during the Reds’ 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion a fortnight ago, before putting on a dazzling display - which was crowned by two assists - in last week’s 4-2 win at Crystal Palace.

And Can, who notched his first goal of the season in opening the scoring at Selhurst Park, has spoken of his admiration for Liverpool’s No.10.

“For me, it is incredible what he does on the pitch. It is amazing and if you see on the training pitch and in the training sessions, he is not just a good footballer, he is a fighter, he wants to work for the team,” the Germany international told Sky Sports.

“It's a big honour to play with him. He is a very, very good player and I have not seen a player like him in my career so far.

“In every training session I am thinking: ‘Wow!’”

Can also had words of praise for the other attacking talents at Jürgen Klopp’s disposal, with Liverpool having scored 34 times in just 13 games across all competitions so far this season.

“We have a very strong team and if you see us playing, the players we have attacking, [Roberto] Firmino, Coutinho, [Adam] Lallana, [Sadio] Mane are all great players," he added.

“I am enjoying playing with them and we are like friends on and off the pitch, which is important.”

The Reds sit level on points with Manchester City and Arsenal at the top of the Premier League with 10 matches played and have an EFL Cup quarter-final against Leeds United on the horizon.

But Can insists nobody in the dressing room is looking further ahead than Sunday’s visit of Watford to Anfield.

“Of course our target is to win silverware. If you play for Liverpool, it always crosses your mind, because you play for such a big club,” the No.23 continued.

“Your target has to always be silverware, but of course we are only looking to the next game and that is most important.”
