Liverpool welcome Watford to Anfield this afternoon and with the help of club statistician Ged Rea, we've compiled seven of the best stats to whet your appetite ahead of the Premier League clash...

The Reds have won six of the previous seven meetings between the clubs, and nine of the last 11.

Last season’s fixtures saw the Hornets claim a 3-0 victory at Vicarage Road in December, before Joe Allen and Roberto Firmino scored to give Liverpool a 2-0 win at Anfield in May.

The Reds’ biggest league victory over Watford came at Anfield in November 1987, when they won 4-0 thanks to second-half goals from Steve McMahon, Ray Houghton, John Aldridge and John Barnes.

In 18 previous league matches between Liverpool and Watford, there has never been a goalless draw.

Liverpool’s 3-2 win at Vicarage Road in January 2000 was the last time both teams scored in a fixture between the clubs. The Reds have won five of the six games without conceding since then.

When Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip found the net at Crystal Palace last week, it was the first time since September 1968 that both Liverpool centre-backs had scored in the same league match, when Ron Yeats and Tommy Smith did so against Leicester City.

Watford boss Walter Mazzarri has managed at Anfield once before, when a second-half hat-trick from Steven Gerrard condemned his Napoli side to a 3-1 Europa League defeat in November 2010.
