Liverpool striker Ings, of course, underwent successful surgery on a knee injury he sustained during the Reds' EFL Cup victory over Tottenham Hotspur last week.

The 24-year-old is expected to be out of action for between seven and nine months, but took his first steps towards recovery by beginning his rehabilitation programme at Melwood today.

Meanwhile, another Liverpool forward has lifted the lid on Jürgen Klopp's training regime.

"You have to be on point. You need to be focused," said Sturridge, who is currently away on international duty with England.

Speaking of life at Melwood, Klopp's second assistant Krawietz has revealed that the manager oversees a culture of teamwork and collective endeavour at the training ground.

"As a team we know that the only way we can reach anywhere is by working together," Krawietz explains in the new edition of the official Liverpool FC magazine.
