Liverpool produced a scintillating display to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-0 on a special night at Anfield on Sunday.

Supporters were on the Kop for the first time since March to watch the Premier League champions move level on points with current leaders Tottenham Hotspur.

Goals from Mohamed Salah, Georginio Wijnaldum, Joel Matip and a Nelson Semedo own goal secured the three points for the Reds.

Here are five talking points from the match...

Reds put on a show

It started with a beaming smile from Jürgen Klopp as Liverpool went out for their warm-up and ended with his trademark fist pumps in front of the Kop.

Two thousand fans were inside Anfield and treated to a spectacle.

Salah's clinical finish after 24 minutes kicked off the scoring. That was followed up with a brilliant curler from Wijnaldum early in the second half before Matip headed in and Semedo inadvertently turned into his own net. All were greeted with a hearty roar.

There was intrigue before the game about the atmosphere a few thousand could create. The verdict? Quite the racket.

"I had no idea 2,000 people can create such an atmosphere," Klopp admitted afterwards. "Everyone here tonight should be really proud."

Welcome back.

Sublime Salah

Salah continues to prove he's just as effective creating the goals as he is scoring them.

Loose control from Conor Coady was punished by just two touches from Salah to break the deadlock after a cautious start. And the Egyptian's involvement in the game didn't end there.

From a short corner, the No.11 sent in a whipped, undefendable cross that left Matip with a simple header inside the six-yard box to make it 3-0 with 67 minutes played.

It was the 17th occasion that Salah has scored and assisted in the same Premier League game for Liverpool. Since 2017-18, Tottenham's Heung-Min Son is the closest player to Salah in this regard with 12.

In total, Salah has been directly involved in 111 top-flight goals for the Reds, scoring 82 of them and assisting 29.

Truly outstanding numbers.

Liverpool v Wolves: 90 seconds

Kelleher impresses again

Kelleher followed up his Champions League debut in the best way possible.

After impressing against AFC Ajax last week, the 22-year-old marked his Premier League bow with another clean sheet and strong showing.

In doing so, he became the youngest Liverpool 'keeper to record a shutout in his first Premier League start.

His clawing away of Daniel Podence's chip in the first half, with the scoreline at 0-0, gets better with every viewing and proved crucial.

"I'm just trying to be there for the team to help them out in those moments and thankfully again I was able to make those saves and get the clean sheet," he said post-match.

"To get the clean sheet, for me and the back four, is the most important thing for us. We've done our job then."

Another faultless display from the Irish gloveman.

Van Dijk proudly watches on

In addition to those returning to the Kop, the sight of Virgil van Dijk supporting his teammates was another uplifting image from yesterday's action.

The centre-half, who continues to put in the hard work in his rehabilitation, took a spot right behind the Liverpool dugout to observe the victory.

He was on Wijnaldum's mind when the midfielder doubled the hosts' lead.

Continuing to keep his word, the No.5 wheeled away and performed Van Dijk's distinguishable celebration.

"It was great to have him back," the Dutch midfielder told Liverpoolfc.com. "He said to me in the dressing room, 'I want to see something today, I want a goal' so I said: 'No problem!'"

A lovely goal and a lovely touch.

Looking ahead

Although Klopp has stressed it's far too early to think about the title race, the next game Anfield hosts could very well be a top-of-the-table clash.

Jose Mourinho's Spurs arrive at L4 on December 16 for a contest under the floodlights. But as is the way in 2020-21, Liverpool must complete two games before then.

With top spot in Champions League Group D already secured, the trip to Midtjylland on Wednesday does at least provide the opportunity for Klopp to rotate. Then follows a visit to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham.

The fixtures keep on coming, but the Reds are well set heading into the festive period.
