Reds on alert as Jamie Vardy’s £30m buyout clause is revealed
Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy could leave the club for just £30million this summer after details of the striker’s contract were revealed.
The 29-year-old’s having the season of his life at the Kingpower Stadium and is the Premier League’s top scorer with 19 goals this term.
Chelsea and Manchester United registered their interest in the forward in January but the former Fleetwood striker decided to sign a new three-and-a-half-year deal in the Midlands.
However, according to The Times, Vardy had a £30million release clause installed into the contract meaning he could be poached from the title-chasing Foxes this summer.
Leicester, of course, will be determined to hold onto their star man but the release clause means Vardy holds the cards should one of Man United, Chelsea or Liverpool stump up the cash.
