Liverpool are being strongly linked with a transfer move for Gonzalo Higuain after Jürgen Klopp was spotted with the player’s agent.

Higuain enjoyed arguably the best season of his career as he scored a record-breaking 36 goals in a single Serie A season for Napoli.

The Argentine’s fine form has seen him linked with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, but Liverpool may now be leading the chase for his signature.

Photos have appeared online of Klopp watching Argentina’s Copa America game against Chile on Monday night, alongside Higuain’s brother and agent Nicolas.

The German supposedly then left the match when Higuain was subbed off, which strengthens previous reports from beIN Sports that a deal for the 28-year-old was close.
