Latest on Reds' pursuit of Germany defender Jonas Hector
Tottenham will rival Liverpool and Wolfsburg for Koln left-back Jonas Hector, according to reports.
Hector is currently on international duty with Germany and is having a solid Euro 2016, scoring the winning penalty against Italy to send Joachim Low's side into the semi-finals.
The 26-year-old has long been tipped to leave Koln this summer, with Liverpool and Bundesliga club Wolfsburg reportedly both showing interest.
However, his fine performances in the Euros have reportedly also attracted the attention of Premier League rivals Tottenham.
And German publication Express claims Spurs will now take on the other two clubs for the full-back's signature.
The report says Hector's performances in the Euros may have boosted his market value and the fierce competition could see offers in excess of £17million.
But that's no surprise to Koln’s manager Peter Stoeger who has admitted he always knew Hector would become a top player.
“He is now perhaps more in focus, but those who know him always knew in advance that he is a good player," Stoeger said.
Hector made 34 appearances for Koln last season in all competitions and has 19 caps for Germany since being called up to the senior squad in 2014.
