Nottingham Forest are battling to keep hold of midfield teenage sensation Oliver Burke before the transfer window closes next week.

The 19-year-old – already a Scotland international – has attracted interest from a string of Premier League clubs.

Sunderland are the latest club to watch the front man – who scored twice in Forest's 4-3 win over Wigan on Saturday afternoon - but the competition for Burke will be fierce.

Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham and Liverpool have already checked him out on several occasions.

Burke has two years left on his contract at the City Ground and manager Philippe Montanier is keen to keep his rising star as Forest attempt to return to the Premier League. The asking price for Burke will be around £10million.

Montanier’s best hope of having Burke for this season is that one of the bigger clubs – Arsenal, Spurs or Liverpool – go through with bid and then loan him straight back to Forest.

A successful move from either Sunderland or West Ham could well mean he leaves at the end of the month because he will be wanted straight away.
