Rumours: Reds to compete with Spurs for German star
Liverpool are to go head-to-head with Tottenham to compete for German star Max Meyer, according to reports this morning.
The 21-year-old midfielder is said to be one of the most promising players in the German Bundesliga, having already won three caps for Germany, scoring one goal.
German newspaper SportBild reported Spurs' interest in Meyer this week, with French website Le10 Sport saying that Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan, and has been since his time at Dortmund.
They report that Klopp is 'willing to do anything to convince him to sign for Liverpool'.
But both clubs could face a fight to sign the midfielder, with Barcelona also linked and Schalke desperate to keep hold of their star man.
Elsewhere this morning and Liverpool are linked with Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon.
According to Football Whispers, the Reds are keeping tabs on the talented 20-year-old winger, who has scored seven goals in 17 games for Boca.
Pavon also boasts caps at youth level for Boca.
