Mahmoud Dahoud remains on Liverpool radar
Liverpool's interest in Mahmoud Dahoud could be scuppered by Borussia Dortmund – with former Reds midfielder Nuri Sahin reportedly central to the deal.
The Reds remain interested in Dahoud, the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder, after failing to agree a suitable deal for the 20-year-old in the summer.
Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the Syria-born German, but faces stiff competition from top clubs across the continent.
One of those, it seems, is Borussia Dortmund – with German newspaper Bild suggesting the Bundesliga club are lining up a 15million euro bid for Dahoud, with Sahin being sent the other way.
Sahin, who was part of Klopp’s title-winning Dortmund side in 2010-11, has failed to make an appearance under Thomas Tuchel this season.
After a big-money move to Real Madrid, Sahin struggled for game time and moved to Anfield on loan in 2012-13 – but returned to Dortmund midway through the season, on a permanent deal, after making just seven starts for Liverpool.
Dahoud, meanwhile, has started just four Bundesliga games for Monchengladbach this season, although has impressed in Champions League against Barcelona and Manchester City.
