Everybody loves a good transfer rumour. Everybody it seems, including Liverpool legend Steve Nicol.

He has been getting in on that act this week, adding fuel to the fire when it comes to the Reds being linked with Spanish attacker Jese Rodriguez.

The former Real Madrid man, now at PSG, has struggled to nail down a regular place in Paris, scoring two goals in 14 appearances.

And the French champion's signing of Julian Draxler have raised doubts about the 23-year-old's future.

Asked about the prospect of Rodriguez moving to Anfield, Nicol said: "I think this is possible.

"The fact that PSG have gone and signed Julian Draxler means that there's even less of a chance of Jese starting.

"Klopp has already said that he is interested in added some more attacking wide players, so why not Jese?

"I think this has got a chance, obviously it depends on the money but I think this deal [could happen]."

For the record, PSG boss Unai Emery did admit that Rodriguez could leave the club in January.

"The possibility of him leaving is a reality," he said.
