Reds target Southampton skipper Jose Fonte
Liverpool want Southampton defender Jose Fonte to bolster their defence.
The Portugal international has rejected the offer of a new deal at St Mary’s and Southampton will want £10million the Euro 2016 winner.
And Liverpool are keen to bring the 33-year-old to Anfield to reinforce the defensive options of manager Jürgen Klopp.
Fonte’s experience is seen as a major asset to Klopp as he looks to bring the much-coveted Premier League title to Liverpool.
Fonte, who has 18 months left on his contract, would join four former Southampton players - Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne, Sadio Mane and Dejan Lovren - who have left for Anfield.
