Liverpool are preparing to step up their interest in Alexandre Lacazette in the summer, according to reports in France.

Liverpool have been long-term admirers of Lacazette who has been one of Europe's leading forwards in the past few years.

The 25-year-old has broken the 20-goal barrier in his last three season at Lyon and in the 2014/15 campaign he was the leading goalscorer in Ligue 1 with 27 goals in just 33 appearances.

This season Lacazette already has 24 goals to his name in 27 league appearances and 30 goals in all competitions.

And, according to RMC, Liverpool are set to reignite their interest this summer with Jurgen Klopp looking to bolster his squad.

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Lacazette in recent years, with Arsene Wenger viewing him as the perfect replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

Lacazette added fuel to the speculation that he will leave Lyon this summer by admitting recently his future will be determined by what clubs are interested in signing him.

"Will this be my last few months at Lyon? It depends which teams will be on offer to me," said Lacazette.

"I am prepared to leave, but only to make a significant leap forward. Otherwise, nothing will happen."

But Liverpool will reportedly face competitions from Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid, with the latter favourites to sign Lacazette.
