Latest on Alexandre Lacazette future
Arsenal are in pole position to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to the bookies, but he may decide to stay at Lyon.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas revealed this week that Arsenal had made a "very nice offer" for Lacazette ahead of the summer window.
But the Ligue 1 club turned down the Gunners' proposal, just like they did last summer when they rejected their £29.3million bid for the 26-year-old.
Liverpool are also said to be interested in Lacazette, with French outlet L'Equipe claiming they have held initial talks for the £60million-rated striker.
L'Equipe reported today that Lacazette has his heart set on a move to Atletico Madrid.
The striker is reportedly willing to wait it out at Lyon for the first half of next season and sign for Atletico in January due to the La Liga club's ban on transfers this summer.
Lacazette, a product of Lyon's academy, has scored 129 goals in 275 appearances since making his senior debut for the club in 2010.
He bagged 37 goals across all competitions last season as Lyon finished fourth in Ligue 1 and reached the Europa League quarter-finals.
