Goalkeeper set for Spain move
Roma goalkeeper Alisson is on the brink of joining Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain.
Alisson is one of the most sought after goalkeepers in European football after repeatedly catching the eye in an impressive season.
The Brazilian shot stopper, who is valued at around £61million, kept 17 clean sheets for Roma in Serie A last season.
He will start the World Cup as Brazil’s number one ahead of Manchester City’s Ederson.
And next season he could supplant Keylor Navas as Madrid’s number one.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, talks between Real Madrid and Roma are now at an advanced stage.
It is claimed the deal is so close, Alisson’s Brazil teammates are aware he will be on the move.
Roma have allowed Alisson’s agent Jose Maria Neis to speak to Madrid officials and a £61million fee could be agreed.
News of Alisson’s move to Real will be a blow to Liverpool and their manager Jurgen Klopp, who is on the hunt for a new goalkeeper.
At the weekend, Alisson made clear his desire for his future to be decided before the start of the World Cup.
Alisson said: “I think everything will be resolved before the start of the World Cup, that’s what I want.
“The truth is that I left everything in the hands of my agent.
“If everything is not resolved, it will be discussed after the World Cup.
“Right now, I’m focused only on the World Cup. There are some possibilities and we are working on all of them, together with Roma, always respecting the club.
“We’ll see if anything happens this week."
