Christian Pulisic to decide on future in January

The Borussia Dortmund ace is out of contract in under 18 months and looks set to move to England.

Chelsea and Liverpool are keen on a deal for the American star and are set to battle it out for his signature.

Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp in charge, have long been interested in Pulisic while Chelsea’s interest has grown over the last few months.

But Dortmund are keen to hang on to him until at least the summer but Pulisic has revealed he will hold talks with the club in January.

"I'm still focused on Dortmund. We are doing great this season," said Pulisic.

"Once the break comes [in January], that is always when I will have to discuss with Dortmund and see about my future."

The 20-year-old played against England last week and has impressed again for Dortmund this term.

He has scored 15 goals in 107 appearances for Dortmund since signing as a 16-year-old.

Pulisic spent a year in England aged seven and played for Brackley Town junior teams before moving back to the States.

He grew up in Michigan before making the move to Germany, where he applied for Croatian citizenship to avoid having to get a German works visa.

However he now looks set to move to England and will have to pick between Chelsea and Liverpool.

But Dortmund chief Michael Zorc has told clubs to forget about signing him when the transfer window opens in January.

"We have known these rumours for many years," Dortmund sporting director Zorc told German publication Kicker.

"We plan at least until the end of the season with him."
