Liverpool Football Club's interactive museum has launched 'The Steven Gerrard Collection', featuring his personal memorabilia from his entire footballing career to date.

Charting the illustrious career of one of the Reds' most talented footballers, this fascinating exhibition at the Liverpool FC Story exhibit is brought to life via a multimedia film with Gerrard himself reflecting on the excitement and emotion from his 17 years at the club.

Stating that he "just thought that some of the fans would like to see some of this", the 35-year-old has loaned his vast collection of match-worn Liverpool and England shirts, as well as jerseys swapped with footballing peers, England caps, medals and trophies to the museum, allowing supporters the opportunity to get up close to items documenting the memorable moments in both his club and international career.

Highlights of the collection include the match ball, programme and captain's armband from the 2005 Champions League final in Istanbul - one of the most dramatic nights in LFC's history.  Referring to his winners' medal as 'priceless', the treasured item also features in the collection.

Stephen Done, curator of the Anfield museum, said: "I first met Steven in 1998, when as a young man he was making first steps into the first team.

"I've tracked and watched his whole career, and been to all but one (Super Cup) final he has taken part in. To be invited to take charge of his astounding personal collection was a great honour and privilege, and creating this exhibition has been a highlight of my professional career.

"I hope Steven and our supporters feel we have done one of our greatest players proud."
