Divock Origi came off the bench on a frustrating night for Belgium as they lost 2-0 to Italy in their opening game of Euro 2016 in Lyon on Monday night.

The Liverpool striker replaced Romelu Lukaku in the 72nd minute while Christian Benteke and Simon Mignolet remained on the bench.

The opening goal came on 31 minutes when a sublime pass from Leonardo Bonucci was brilliantly controlled and finished by Emanuele Giaccherini.

Origi had a great chance to equalise nine minutes from time, but his close range header sailed over the top.

Italy wrapped up the victory when Southampton striker Graziano Pelle fired home a brilliant second goal in stoppage time.

Belgium are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they face Republic of Ireland in Bordeaux at 2pm BST.
