Steven Gerrard v Middlesbrough
Liverpool were enduring a frustrating day at the office in their first home game of the 2008-09 season.
Rafa Benitez's side struggled to get going against a well-drilled Middlesbrough outfit, and the visitors took the lead through Mido with 20 minutes left.
Boro's goal appeared to spark the Reds into life, though, and Jamie Carragher's deflected shot drew them level late on.
Not satisfied with a point, Benitez's team pushed and probed for a winner and, somewhat inevitably, it was their captain who found it with 94 minutes on the clock.
A hopeful long ball from Xabi Alonso was only partially cleared and Steven Gerrard was on hand to coolly place a side-footed shot home at the Kop end.
