Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge were both on target with headers in England's 3-0 victory over Scotland at Wembley on Friday night.

The Liverpool pair scored in either half of the World Cup qualifier to secure a win for the Three Lions which moves them two points clear in Group F.

Sturridge broke the deadlock on 24 minutes with a delightful header, redirecting Kyle Walker’s fizzed cross from the right into the roof of the net.

Lallana then doubled their advantage early in the second half from a similar move on the other flank, expertly meeting Danny Rose’s delivery with a perfect nod beyond the goalkeeper.

Centre-back Gary Cahill added a third with another header, this time from a corner, to seal the result for Gareth Southgate’s side.

Sturridge was withdrawn with 74 minutes on the clock, while both Lallana and Reds captain Jordan Henderson played the full match. Nathaniel Clyne was an unused substitute.

England, who next host Spain in a friendly on Tuesday night, therefore control their qualifying group for the 2018 tournament – ahead of Slovenia after four games.
