The strong team spirit fostered by Jürgen Klopp means Sadio Mane already feels right at home at Liverpool.

Mane has settled in quickly on the pitch following his move from Southampton, and produced a string of impressive performances during pre-season, particularly his Man of the Match display against Barcelona at Wembley.

The 24-year-old followed that up with an outstanding showing in Liverpool's opening Premier League game of the season at Arsenal on Sunday, as he scored the Reds' fourth goal of their thrilling 4-3 victory with a brilliant solo effort.

Klopp has plenty of options in forward areas this season and while Mane is relishing the challenge of nailing down a regular first-team place, he says the atmosphere within a squad that possesses 'big quality' has helped him adapt to life at Anfield.

The No.19 told Liverpoolfc.com: “I'm very happy to be here. We're trying to work on the pitch and in training by listening to the coach.

“I'm very pleased because everything is going well. There's a very good team spirit and the coach is trying to help us give our best. I think this is important.

“I'm close with everyone. I'm just trying to give what I can. I'm impressed by them because we have a great team with big quality.

“Now we have to do it as a team and I think [if we do that] everything is going to go well for us and we'll be successful.”

Mane went on to explain that competition for places is to be expected at a club such as Liverpool, adding that this can only be a positive as the Reds strive for success in 2016-17.

“We have great quality in the team and this is good for us. It's normal that if you have very good players in the team then it's good for everybody,” the Senegal international added.

“With the competition, it's normal, you have to do it, and we try to help each other - it's normal and makes the team stronger. Everybody enjoys it, everybody's happy with it. I think everything will be good for us.”
